Scope recommendations

Hi all,

Currently using a Zeiss V4 3-12x56 on my 6.5 creed. A lovely scope, however I’d like something with ballistic turrets, a finer reticle and parallax adjustment.
Budget would be around the £1000 mark.
Ideally the reticle having a single dot for point of impact and not too cluttered with a million sub-tensions I’ll never use.

Would welcome any suggestions before I spend hours and hours trawling the darkest corners of the internet watching reviews and reading write ups.

Cheers

Dave

Dave,

Are you looking for something stalking orientated with better light transmission and lighter weight, more target orientated or maybe something that does both?

There are plenty of options so a little more detail maybe of your intended use would be great!

As a Swarovski fan I would say a Z6 or Z8 both have ballistic turrets and very good light transmission numbers, good deals on Z6 second hand

Predominantly stalking but with the ability to use at my club range for ringing steel too.

I’ve recently put my digital day/night scope on the rifle as stalking outings on my permissions more often than not become foxing outings when the light goes and it’s a pain taking two rifles. However this means a big faff changing scopes and re zeroing when I want to go north of the border for highland reds, which myself and a friend do yearly. So ideally something that can utilise a nv add on for foxing

Can you not get the ASV turrets retro fitted ? I recently bought a Kahles 2-16-50 ( I think) lovely scope but I still rate my Victory HT best I have had pleasure to use

At the £1000 mark I’d look at something like a delta titanium - these scope are often underrated but perform fantastically.

You can then get their ballistic turret as an add on very similar to the Swarovski BT system where you have pre set ranges marked out.

Alternatively - any other options from the range that already have the ballistic turret capability as they’re all cracking scopes

Been looking at these and some from meopter too. Always used Zeiss/S&B but hear good things about the aforementioned.

They are fantastic - with modern technology in manufacturing you get some great optics coming out of the far east. So much so that the difference is so marginal that id argue that the human eye won’t notice it

Recently read the Arken scopes punch well above their price point too

I'm in exactly the same situation with my new .223 intended on being a lightweight training rifle as well as a foxing rifle.

I'm going to be getting a Maven RS1 or RS1.2. The glass quality on the Maven Scopes is mind blowing for the price. I have the RS.4 on my match rifle.

Second hand NXS with the NP2DD dot of death would be worth a look.

I’ve got a 3.5-15 and a 5.5-22 and I really like them and come well within your price point
