Shooting in Scotland under attack - please help!

I responded but didn't post that I had. I really doubt it will make any difference. Policy makers in Scotland, at all levels, routinely ignore consultations, about anything, unless responses fit with their preconceived goals. I harp back to the air rifle legislation as an example, I think it was around 86% of the consultation that was against the proposals and the results were ignored as it was reported that it was mainly those with a vested interest that responded i.e. the shooting community. My view would be that in every consultation it will only be mainly those with an interest that will respond. So whilst responding makes us feel good about trying to inform, educate and influence, the aftermath is the realisation your thoughts and opinions will be ignored. Air gun licensing proposals slammed in Scottish Government consultation

Thanks again to all that responded. The summary of responses was recently published and excluded responses from those living outside Scotland which has now been rectified and the results are now clearly in our favour.

Wonder if the current wildfires that are burning up north will have any bearing on the matter.

Watching the news tonight about the wildfires and the RSPB rep being interviewed was lamenting about the fact that years of conservation, hard work etc had been lost.
Needless to say he got a few choice words from me, just wish he could have heard me raging from my front room !!!:cuckoo:

If we dont stand up for it ,stalking bambi will be next, dont matter if its asked in the wrong manner. We all need to get our voices heard and our shooting culture/heritage rights defended more.
I need to write to my MP again as she didnt reply to my email about asking her where she stood on the Plymouth shooting and ridiculous new laws.
Will be getting all 4 members of my family to email her this time and say she could loose 4 votes. If we all do that it MAY help but worth trying.

All through, even though a lot of the details don’t seem to have been agreed but then that doesn’t matter.

You can’t burn but you can plant non native trees - SNP/Green logic.

Pheasant shoots will be next, be under no illusion.
