Sierra Pro Hunters - various types discontinued?

Hi folks,

Was just having a look at the Sierra website and it looks like a couple of the Pro Hunter line have possibly been scrapped, or at least I cant see them on their site but they're also not under the "discontinued" page either - the 180gn .30 cal and the 117gn .25 cal.

Can anyone confirm this is the case? I can still see them for sale in the UK but I'm assuming the stocks will dwindle if they are no longer being made.

That'll be a bit of a pain if thats the case as thats what I have a load for in my main stalking rifles at the minute, and I'll have to come up with another load!

I‘ve just looked up the .30 cal. 180 grs. For me it is still there.

I have two boxes of .243 100grn semi pointed #1550 no longer listed but when looking at them they look almost the same as the Pro Hunter.
The same amount of lead on the nose but not quite so pointed as the others marketed as Pro Hunters so perhaps Sierra are having a sort out across the board.

Blast :(

Well I guess I'm going to have to use up my stock and then move on to something else! Might have to try the Gamekings, or I possibly move on to Nosler partition or Accubonds.
Accubonds are nice bullets, Stu. Accurate and not too explosive. Tough enough for African game too.

Never been able to get bl00dy Partitions to shoot straight in any rifle, though.

Hoard them until you either run out of cash or storage space, have you not learnt anything from 2020?! :stir:

On a serious note, don't hoard please!

Be interesting if true. Seems like Hornady are discontinuing some of the interlock range (265gr 44 cal and 175 gr 7mm anyone?)

So heavy for calibre lead bullets might be going?

The new ranges of higher bc bullets, bonded bullets, plastic tipped bullets, copper bullets etc means probably production of classic lead tipped bullets will increasingly be sacrificed.
I really miss the old Hornady spire point non interlock 70gr 6mm, 100gr 6.5mm and 120gr 7mm. They worked very well and were cheap
