Sika stalking

Morning all, im just in talks with a chap about possibly getting a day or two in Scotland on the sika deer later in the year, not shot at these up there before,
Has anyone got any recommendations on dates/time of the year to go,
I was thinking end of Aug, early Sept possibly??

Anywhere around Loch Ness really is bound to have sika. The kintyre peninsula is also very well populated, I have stalked both areas.

The rut in my opinion is the pinnacle of sport. Calling a stag and having it charging into you is about as exciting as it gets in my book.
I'll see if we can get a day in October then

I took a German mate up to Loch Ness (east side) for Sika a few years ago, plenty to go at. There were 5 stags in the bit we first went into and it was a case of “which one do you want to shoot”; from recollection it was September time so just before the rut.

Done and dusted and back in the hotel for breakfast by 0930 which was nice and a light wind kept the midges away which was even nicer!!

Fantastic footage! Do you have a contact up there ?
No I stalk with friends up there, this chap is Alba stalking who I presume has a website (and I heavily suspect is on here) but that video really sums it up! The bit where he’s calling one stag and another slides in unseen is so typical, happened to me numerous times. Tulloch on here lets sika stags so he might be a good shout.

I shall have to do some research!

I have sika stalking on east side of Loch Ness all ways found last few days of September and first 2 weeks October to be the best for mature stags to be about get a few nice red as well
