I've long been of the opinion, the hardest part of reloading is correctly setting a full length die .

Remove the bolts guts and feel the bolt close , measure the correct shoulder and take the measurement

That's my process, but some bolts are easier to strip the firing pin out than other's.

brass can do very much more work than a couple of firings . ten times or even a lot more , depending on quality and how well its been re-sized etc . 10-20 firings without annealing is common , before anyone annealed . With good sizing and anealing it can do even more ( the trick is knowing when its time for the bin

also make sure your chamber is really clean. Hard deposits can develop in there. Various sizes of bronze shotgun brushes (20/28b) are good for this then a 30 cal brush for the tapered front part of the chamber.

The implication being reloading is easy and I don't struggle setting up a f/l die , but that to me is the trickiest part .
Still , if I can do it ....

What make of Mandrel do you use mate?

Full size without the ball and use a mandrel all that pushing brass around then pulling it back up is madness.
Also nothing wrong with Lee dies if set up correctly?

I used to try and size brass with the expander ball in and it was hard to achieve

So I removed it and just used a mandrel die

Much easier on the brass

Much better IMHO to achieve and perfect case yesterday just getting a load for Orian ranges for the mile this weekend think that will do .
Just need to find more H1000 now
