Smidge spray

Not sure if Smidge works but I can vouch for Johnsons Off Spray which works well for me, Used it all over the world and the little critters love me, Ive ended up in foreign hospitals twice through being bit but since I started using Johnsons luckily Ive had no more problems.

hi Ben.
I don't get bitten much and I put this down to my high garlic daily intake.
at this time of the year I get some wild garlic flowers and rub on any exposed areas and you do smell nice

Never known them as bad as they are this year, driving the ewes mad, and I’ve already put dysect on the grazed cattle. Decided to try the garlic licks from Dennis brnnicombe and they seem to work well.
The life venture spray works well for me, but be careful, it did delaminate my sako stock.
Icaridin is the the active ingredient in Smidge, and I find it is very effective. It not like DEET so it doesn’t melt stocks, quad bike handles, fly lines etc.
Rather than Smidge, I just buy this stuff in a big bottle and decant into a handful of small spray bottles I bought of eBay for peanuts. Significantly cheaper than smidge but does exactly the same job, as the only difference is that it isn’t fragranced.

That's the thing, I've never been bothered by any biting bugs ever in my life. Maybe it's my manopause changing my pheromones!!

I very rarely get bitten when I'm with my wife, she however gets eaten alive to the point that she's needed medical treatment. She reckons it's because she's made of finer stuff, but now I'll tell her that Heym said it was all about the smell.That's the thing, I've never been bothered by any biting bugs ever in my life. Anything containing Picardin will work. DEET whilst effective will melt a whole range of plastics (ask me how I know). It’s also worth pre-spraying your clothing with permethrin, but if you really get savaged that badly get a head net. Smidge make them or the Army issue surplus ones are good.
