Fortis. Just bought my son one of their field smocks. its robust, reasonably uncomplicated..... detachable hood, big bino/kangaroo pouch, handwarmers, side zips and quarterzips. Waterproof, warm and breathable. It fits long, so no wet backside. Be aware they measure a size larger than stated. Great value for well under your budget, abd they may well have one in stock to fit you.

I’m hoping Santa is kind to me this year - certainly dropped plenty of hints!

Hoggs Of Fife! I bought one earlier this year from our local Farmers Store. Great garment, good design & well made. You won't be sorry for sure. I got one of their wax jackets which is good so went back to see if it's a one off or if the smocks were decent to.

Ridgeline monsoon classic has a reputation for being boil-in-a-bag standard of unbreathable. Fine as long as you don't involve any form of exertion.
To true. Brought one for the pheasant beating season. Wore it once and sweated like the proverbial pig. Awful thing.

The new ones are pretty good in terms of breathability - nothing like the older models. I've had two of the Monsoon classic and they've been pretty good, although only got about a year out of each before the seam tape peeled off and they let water in. Wearing them 5/6 days a week however, not just the odd weekend here and there.

i got one of these, was nice but sadlydidnt fit. They accepted a return without hassle.
