We can look forward to the excitement of coming back through Customs again and whether or not we will get away with not having to pay duties on goods we bring back.
Looks like you have answered your own question there HeymWe can look forward to the excitement of coming back through Customs again and whether or not we will get away with not having to pay duties on goods we bring back.

Living the dream chaps, living the dream.

With apologies to Heym as this is not directly answering his "Original Post" question . It is an oblique answer giving just one reason why the UK will benefit.Found it.. Enjoy

A thousand EU financial firms plan to open UK offices after Brexit - FinTech Futures
More than a thousand banks, asset managers, payments companies and insurers in the European Union plan to open offices in post-Brexit Britain so they can continue serving UK clients, according to the regulatory consultancy, Bovill in a statement issued on Monday.www.fintechfutures.com
Why do they need to? After 4 1/2 years we are out and bored of the constant whining.Sadly its not a game, and its not a game for all those who will be badly affected by it.
I would expect Brexit supporters to be providing lots of positive comments- all they do is shout insults. Why?
What is currently happening is that a proportion of office space is now been turned into high end apartments. They are not going to Amsterdam en made. As above maybe a few go it’s a prop trading hub but for the rank and file it’s a non entity. Sure Netherlands has an attractive tax break for two years but after that it’s full on normal. As for the US banks they have always had a presence overseas but it will never replace London and unless they want to hire locally they will simply not be able to get the staff. If you think rent prices for young staff in major cities are cheaper than London you’re totally delusional.
Now we are free of the EU shackles I am quite certain we will move even closer to usa regulators and just carry on as per normal.
Agree with you on London commercial real estate my pal was a senior surveyor of ten years and in summer they potted 150 staff at the firm and said commercial is dead. However all my friends in banking currently working from home and likely will carry on regardless. So that’s a huge cost offsetting for firms right there.
I take it you missed my post(s) ?Sadly its not a game, and its not a game for all those who will be badly affected by it.

If it brings back those good Leeward and Windward Islands bananas from the West Indies (instead of the Dole Corporation crap from South America) I'll rejoice. One of the pleasures of working in France for the last twenty years was being able to find in all supermarkets bananas from Martinique or Guadaloupe. Proper island bananas not the tasteless white roll of dried out damp paper towel in a yellow skin Del Monte, Dole and Chiquita crap we sadly see here. If post this covid any here get a chance to go to France buy some Martinique or Guadaloupe bananas. It's on the label. Real bananas with real favour. Like they used to be here.Personally, I am just glad I am now free to shop for bananas that do not have an EU proscribed curvature.![]()

Agreed. Like the tasty nanas I get in Muscat (hoping to get back there soon for work.. ain't been in the office since March !!)If it brings back those good Leeward and Windward Islands bananas from the West Indies (instead of the Dole Corporation crap from South America) I'll rejoice. That's crazy talk , next thing you'll be advising mutual respect and tolerance , where will that get us ?What we all need now is respite from rifts [over Brexit and covid] . We need to replace antagonism with a renewed commitment to each other to move forward purposefully for mutual well-being.
