I am happy we will have our own authority to kick arse##les like the one armed bandit out, cat or no cat.
I hear a lot of what the EU is not but what I do not hear is where this promised land that is outside the EU is to be found. How will the UK find the exit utopia. All i hear is promises of unicorns in the land of dreams. Trade deals with who, how and for what at what cost? Rather than voting to be free we are voting to be alone.
So what are we going to get at the end of March?
I don’t know
What we will not get is Brexit
The remain campaign has had all the media access
They have invented a complete language around the debate
Words like soft brexit; hard brexit; crash out; etc etc are all inventions of those who wish to steer a course away from leaving
They have employed standard psych ops techniques to confound the agenda and have been able to establish spin as fact in the minds of many
Added to that you have a majority in the House who will not listen to their electorates and a Speaker, quite obviously biased, who is prepared to overturn a 100 years of precedent because it doesn’t suit the remain agenda
I have found the whole episode very enlightening as it reveals quite starkly just how free and fair this Country’s political system really is
For those of you that are quite happy if this results in ‘’remain’’ – just remember that this lack of democracy will occur again the next time there is an issue that doesn’t serve the elites; but on that occasion they might be advocating something you don’t want
In which case I would borrow from an old Royal Navy poster showing a sailor surrounded by flame looking at a fire extinguisher with apparent confusion trying to make it work
The caption read
Too late Mate!
We gain:
-Our EU membership fees, around £200 billion a year
-Our Independent Sovereignty, and freedom from laws set down by the EU (such as banana-curvature allowables)
-Control over immigration (including the freedom to deport undesirables without being overruled by the European Court of Human Rights, and the right to set limits on the automatic right to welfare)
-Less interfering workplace regulation (could be a pro or a con, time will tell)
-Trade costs set by the UK, including the levels of VAT
-Independence with regard to the Common Customs Tariff, and the ability to import form whichever markets we set trade deals with
-Independence from the Common Agricultural Policy (no more subsidies to foreign farming, and hopefully freedom form the farcical Fisheries Policy too)

Maybe slightly off topic, but as it's been raised by several posters........
Two world wars, both times Britain stepped into protect other countries, we all know what happened, and we all know what it cost us both financially, and in lives lost.
The question I have asked myself so many times over so many years it this, what would have happened if we had just sat at home protecting our borders, and building armed strength so to be ready to protect our country from invasion by any aggressor who tried invasion.
I also wonder what the map of Europe would look like now ?
Neil.

That makes you sound as selfish as the rest of the remainers

That makes you sound as selfish as the rest of the remainers. 'What's in it for me?' Are you an estate agent?
It was an open vote, everyone is entitled to their own view.A friend of mine and his wife flew back from their retirement home in France to vote for the UK to LEAVE.
HUH?...They must have thought about a possible expulsion from their adopted country being on the cards as I had....
An interesting 3 parter seems to be screening on the UK TV at the moment should be enlightening to clarify why the vote came about.
