Spuhr qdp zero issues

Hello all, I purchased some sphur qdp mounts for use on the AI rifle, however having huge return to zero issues. I've seated forward to the recoil lug on the picatinny rail as per manual, torqued the screws to equal each time, taken off and put back on the same numbered rail and in the same sequence. I have taken the mount off, put back on and 3 round group is inch low, off and on again, quarter inch high and right, then back on again and perfect zero. I understand no mounts are perfectly turned to zero but this isnt in the relm of accuracy, what's peoples take on this? Thank you

This usually happens with QD mounts when something isn’t perfect aligned. Randomly a shot or two lines it back up. Things like both bases need to be touching the front of the pic rail not just one. Ring tops aren’t equally tightened and therefore very slightly skewed. I have seen them before on the range where the first shot is 4” out after a change and then the second shot is bob on again. The only mounts that I have never seen this with is Innomount but then their recoil lug is almost an interference fit into the pic rail most others wobble back and forwards before tightening.

Did you mount both mounts to the rail then mount the scope? Sounds like something is out of alignment.

I've just been playing about putting a few shots down range, you're absolutely right, 2 to 3 shots and it's bang plumb again

It's just a one piece mount, I've checked all the ring screws and all tight enough, like I've mentioned above a couple of shots seems to rectify it

Something isn’t straight I am afraid and recoil fixes it. Now if your sure it isn’t your build then it could be the rings I guess but that’s going to need some proving to get a return.
I can't see it being the rings it must be something I'm doing, do the two torque screws on the levers need to be torqued equally or just till the tension feels right?

I know your first shot after change is an inch out but the second shot being 1/4” out is likely within what the manufacturer accepts as being within tolerance on the basis that most (90%+) shooters wouldn’t be able to do a 0.25 MOA group anyway.

Only a fortnight

Send them back because THEY ARE FAULTY .

I have them on all my CF rifles from 22-250s to PRC's and everything in between
I can take off and replace and they will be spot on , i don't mean close or really good i mean spot on zero .
If you do a search on the web there are plenty that use them and they all seem to report back with the same findings .

Send them back buddy .

Very interested to see what the resolution is because it's between these, tier1 and innomounts for me. I do like the accessories for these

I had the innomount and they worked incredibly well, only reason I got rid was due to the fact they were too low for my scope, but again I have spuhr 30mm qdp on my .22 250 and they're flawless, just seems to either be a bad apple or user error
