Stalking Directory / H4H Shoot 2011.

Youll be needing Maureen 118118 local doctor with funnies like that bud...

Hopefully be coming mob handed..;)

Those dates are good for me...

Derek who says it will be friendly, just look at the threats I have to put up with from Terry.

Of course there's room sika seeker.
We haven't set the date yet other than probably in June. I've had very little in the way of suggestions regarding dates so it looks like I will just have to go ahead and arrange it then. I'll have a word with Macberran and we'll set the date.

Yet to be confirmed but the dates that I am currently working on are the weekend of Saturday Sunday 18th June / Sunday 19th June. Also the actual venue still has to be confirmed but we are looking at an outdoor range this year if possible.

Mike you are a GEM. That is the only weekend I have free in june, TOP MAN! I'm sure Chas Gyr will be keen to come too, I'll bounce the dates off him to see. Any help you need just ask. I'll do what I can.
Cheers,
Mark

Mike,
Can you put my name on the list too please?

I'll hopefully get around to arranging the prize from last years do, before this one...:)

hi 8x57,
i would be interested in coming if there is room available? also if you are still looking for an outdoor range then the shop i use, the gloucestershire gun company have a good outdoor range?

regards, Jez.

rohroh and straightbetweentheeyes I have added you both to the list of those interested and will send you a pm later today along with everyone else who is interested.
We were looking at a possible outdoor range but there were one or two potential issues with access that could cause problems so the shoot will again be on the tunnel range at Monmouth. Using a range further afield such as at the Gloucestershire gun company (if it were available) would cause me some logistical problems and also would incur cost, where as the range at Monmouth will be free of charge and will definitely be available.
In recent months there have been some significant changes at Monmouth and access to the range has been greatly improved by the council clearing their depot. The old club house buildings are due for removal at the end of the month and a brand spanking new club house should be ready for delivery in the next week to ten days. What I have decided to do this year is to hold the "competition " on Sunday 19th June but also to have a practise / zeroing session / fun shoot on Saturday afternoon (18th June) for those that want to make a weekend of it. That way anyone staying over can swap lies /shooting stories and have a few beers.

Sporting Rifle Shoot – in the form of a stalkers test.
Sunday 19th June 2011 – on an approved 100 yard indoor full bore rifle range.

At - Monmouth & District Rifle Club on the borders of Monmouthshire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.

Open to – members of The Stalking Directory and their guests.

To enter send a private message to 8x57 on www.thestalkingdirectory.co.uk giving your email address and name, details of course of fire and directions to the range etc. will then be emailed to you.
All shooters must pre-register you cannot simply turn up on the day.

A friendly get together for all likeminded shooters with the opportunity to use your sporting rifles both rimfire and centrefire, and to practise various shooting positions on sporting type targets. All monies raised including range fees will be donated to the H4H fund (Help for Heroes).
This is intended to be a friendly social event so new or inexperienced shooters should not feel intimidated, simply register come along and meet fellow members of the site and have a go.

Course of fire (all at 100yds) Targets are Roe type targets (German DJV).
2 rounds prone.
2 rounds sitting.
2 rounds kneeling.
2 rounds standing.
2 rounds simulated high seat.

This is a re-entry event and the course of fire will be repeated as often as you like, as long as you keep paying the modest range fee which will all go to H4H.
To encourage good shooting prizes will be presented for each of the three classes and an overall winner’s trophy will be awarded to the shooter with the highest combined score having shot in all three classes.
Classes are; Rimfire rifle, vermin/small deer rifle, large deer rifle.

Macberran has just informed me that he and his family have made the same very generous offer this year as they did last year, in that all proceeds from accomodation at their self catering cottage occupied by site members that week-end will be donated to H4H. The cottage is about 10 minutes from the range. The cottage sleeps three.
The bad news is that a pig may not be ready for the hog roast in time, however the good news is a Hebridean lamb will be. So it will be lamb rolls with mint sauce this year instead.
