Hmm.
In defence of the OP and given my own experience when the wrong mod was in the right box how would I have checked that the threads were matching - particularly if the damned thing “tightened”?

Because I've had SV's with AE and AF prefix and they had this thread, as do all my other SV T3x rifles with later serial numbers. I think that when then went to the 2 letter alpha numeric serial numbers they changed the thread from M18. The medium weight 22.4" barrels on the ember etc also went to 5/8x24 UNEF, the lite stayed with M14x1.

I have made a few mods for the Tikka SV recently and they have all been 5/8 x 24 UNEF, my personal SV however is M18 x 1.
Digital verniers are cheap as chips these days, I would advise anyone with a rifle to buy one, they have so many uses.
