I was sat waiting on a stag too come out the wood that I didnt take the night before about an hour and a half, maybe two hours into the sit after watching four hinds emerge and nothing else.

This guy just starts stumbling towards out of no where limping real bad not weight bearing at all from out the middle of a cattle field(??) b-lining directly too us cant say I've seen a roe in the middle of cows before but when It isn't feeling the best I supose Its a "safe" spot. 🤔

I'm guessing arthritis flare up with the cooler weather? I originally thought it was going to be calcified when I picked it up, but It felt more liquid filled than anything.

I have a video too I'll share, I just want to crop it down so only the deer is visible.

I see, would that normally be fatal in the long run? Poor chap, he really was struggling to move however all things considered he had a nice big healthy carcass on him besides his leg.

Also completely normal looking antlers although not the best for what I'd assume was a 3yo 2nd/3rd points so undeveloped his beam was bigger at the top than it was at the bottom. 😬

From memory, BDS guide is one joint is fine for food chain but more than that (or swollen nodes) and it's bin. Give me a min and I'll did out some info.

Just too clarify my friend planned on eating It if it turned out alright.

Hung it up in the larder started to skin it and It had an off odor in the chest cavity.
Leg wasn't "puss" filled as In it oozed out, but It was very thick liquid.
Several lymph nodes around the body were inflamed.

Some lymph nodes also had yellow-esc stones inside them, not sure if that's normal I'm assuming not.

Carcass ended up being condemned obviously, Its clear the infection was effecting the entire animal in this case.
