Following receipt of my 308 slot on my certificate, I will be looking for a rfile.
My 223 is a new T3x Roughtech Ember which I bought last year, which I find great.
Have been made aware of a T3 for sale, which I gather must be pre 2016.
Obviously round count and maintenance are the biggest question, but is a T3 not as good as a T3X?

As far as I can make out the difference in the 2 in the X

T3’s are bombproof as are their predecessors the 595 and 695 as for the T3 X couldn’t tell you they Just look like a T 3 to me

Bigger ejection port in the T3x and a metal bolt shroud rather than plastic.

99% of deer surveyed couldn't tell the difference 😉

T3x has more configurable (plastic) stock, better recoil lug (hard to see difference, aftermarket stocks usually come with lug), the metal bolt shroud (no difference) and larger ejection port like mentioned. There's "CTR cut" in the bottom of every T3x action.

Unless you want to:

- convert non-CTR T3 to use CTR stock and mag
- plan on putting Spuhr or maybe some similar other mount on

no benefit of T3x. You might like T3x stock better (option for more vertical pistol grip) if you go plastic stock. BTW you can fit Kalix adjustable cheek riser to both, IIRC you have to remove / modify the foam insert in T3x stock to do that (main point being, you can get aftermarket adjustable cheek if going for plain Lite stock). Barrel options (length and whether threaded or not) might differ.
