Taff the labrador pup I bought from Andy at Grugair kennels is 10 months old now.
What a cracking dog he's turning out to be.
The basic training was a doddle and as for retrieving he is a retrieving machine. Started water training with no problem. That's been put on hold for a few weeks because of ice on the water again. Another week and we should be ice free.
Tracking training has been going well, put on hold till the spring weather and longer days kick in. I have hit upon a problem though. The problem is not the dog but my 76 year old legs. I can't traverse the rough, rock, brash strewn ground like I used too. So whilst I'll continue with the tracking training I won't be doing the tests. He should be handy for the odd roe, fallow or boar runner we may get in the hunting team.
