TANKFEST

I had the great pleasure of visiting Tankfest at the Tank Museum at Bovington in June. For those that don't know, Tankfest is run Friday to Sunday one weekend in June and as well as the museum and restoration halls being open, there are trade stands, reenactment groups, different regiments of the army there, vintage military vehicles and a central arena which has tanks and armoured vehicles moving around all day with an expert commentary. As well as tanks from the museum, there are guest tanks from other museums, both from within the UK and abroad, and also from private owners. All in all, a fantastic day if you are into military gear.

Yes same here, when they are focused they make a good job.

Sponsored by Thatchers I think 🍻

They do some good stuff but I wasn’t at all impressed by their model making skills with the airfix kits!
Quite, The one who drives the low loader is switched on the other lad from Devon is bright also the tall one who does the air brakes/electrical is v bright. The owner who dads farm is funny and not to sure about the smaller one.
But they don't have a bad bone in them. Reminds me when i ran my Salavge/car breakers/paint shop
It was a blast every day as I bumped in to a lad who worked with me for 2 1/2 years and he said best time of my life...
Not boring in the slightest lol

My neighbours pal is very well off and had bought a Leopard tank that had been sold off by the Bundeswehr to have fun with and he would go to all the shows and drive it around, the gun had been removed before the sale and had a scaffold pipe or so it looked to me on it.
Well after Vladimirs mistake happened in 2022 the Government over here bought it back from him for a very healthy profit and it is now somewhere in the Ukraine.

Bovington well worth a visit

Follewed “the boys” for a while on you tube - very entertaining

I visited many years ago when on a job in the area. Fascinating if you are a mechanical type. My RAF Apprenticeship and service years was on aircraft, rather different technology and scale.
