The Dreaded DpD Delivery Company

Ordered an item from TAC Light which is a very helpful company which unfortunately uses DpD to deliver its goods , once again messed around by DPD not bothering to read the delivery notes from TAC Light , of course DpD do not
answer its phones for at least 20mins in the hope you will go away but being bloody minded I managed to speak to them & complained oh silly me of course I was given a fresh delivery date being today but did it arrive of course not.
My simple message is never never deal with any company using DpD. Suppliers kindly take note have spent over 8k on various bits & bobs in the last 18 months but will never again deal with any supplier using The Dreaded DpD
delivery company.

They have managed to bring me tyres from the continent on several occasions with despite the Highland Island postcode sham used by companies on the same ###ing Island

Have to say up here our local DPD drivers are on the ball, and I'm very happy with their service. This said, I was indeed notified of an expected delivery due last week just after the bank holiday, which I basically discounted, and sure enough it appeared the day following that. No great shakes as it was not urgent, but it would appear that like several other delivery companies, the admin folk forget that there comes an instant doubling of packages to deal with the day after the bank holiday, and this usually takes more than one day to clear up. Computer doesn't take into account the hiccup, and those sending the SMS or email aren't the drivers!

DPD are good. The online tracking shows you where you are on the delivery list as they progress toward your two hour delivery slot. If you are lazy you could opt for the “free” we will text you when you are next but one.....

I feel your pain. Not personally had a problem with DPD but I've had some unbelievable experiences with CityLink (not sure if they still exist).

Sounds like you have a bad driver or something similar as we run a small business and have many deliveries from DPD and like others have said we find them very good, normally get email with 1 hour delivery slot and they stick to it.
I think it's the DPD one where you can actually track where the delivery van is

I’ll echo that. DPD spit on down here. Tend to get a regular who always brings a biscuit for the dog as well!! Think you have just been unlucky mate.

DPD are one of the best delivery companies, one of the that deliver when they say they will and find the house ok, some of the others don't even try just dump it somewhere else in the village for me to find with no card. When this happens now I just inform the supplier that I have not received it and let them sort it out.

Our local lad likes to muck about with the dogs when he is in by. However, as a company to contact if you have an issue they are a disaster, anyhing supposed to be 24 hours turns into 72. A few years back, when you could contact them via phone, I had the Aberdeen base manager threaten to come out to my place and batter me....

I think you can find horror stories with any courier company. DPD I find have very good online systems with great estimates of delivery time and other options for delivery/collection too if you are not in.

DPD excellent around here. TExt and email on morning telling you a 1 hour time slot for delivery and then live online tracking showing your parcel making its way around the area, and letting you know how many deliveries before yours.

If there was an option to choose a courier when ordering stuff online, I would always specify DPD. They will now deliver to the local Matalan store if I will not be at home.
