I am getting a semi auto, so cycling reliably will be the real issue.Mine liked Hornady 25gn ntx..
Just how close is this lead ban?
Is it not feasible to just stock up on traditional lead?

Pinch of salt time, paid promotion. This makes interesting reading. I'd certainly get a box of each and try them out in my .22's when I can get them locally.
No idea regarding time. By all means stock up.I am getting a semi auto, so cycling reliably will be the real issue.

Maybe so but if I don't try them in my rifles then I'll never know. There is a saying up my way "believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear", which I've generally found helpful.Pinch of salt time, paid promotion.
Feasible, but potentially illegal since the proposals are not only to prohibit sale but also use of lead ammunition.I am getting a semi auto, so cycling reliably will be the real issue.

STOP. I was not suggesting using them after they were banned.Feasible, but potentially illegal since the proposals are not only to prohibit sale but also use of lead ammunition.
So not only would using them be illegal, but probably also an illicit, undeclared storage of ammunition.
or a buy back.STOP. I was not suggesting using them after they were banned.
I meant stock up and use lead while it was still legal.
I would imagine there would be a sensible period allowed to use up existing holdings; both for us shooters and also vendors?
a buy back was talked about in the initial consultation but I can't see it happening.or a buy back.
Yep, no point in high velocity 22lr, my rifle stands me sub £300 including an aftermarket stock, straight to the HMR, double the range and so far good reports on non toxic performance.I'll be using what I have before worrying about decisions on 22. I will NOT be paying through the nose for less accurate and much more costly LF which negates the whole point of me having a 22LR (subsonic ammo) and will scrap the gun before giving in to this woke knee jerk bandwagon to rush out lead from all ammo and I'll simply replace it with a 22FAC air rifle which I can see many others to going over to. Correction; I'll wait and see if the HSE go after air rifles too.
What brand and what range?Nope not all, I’ve been changed over to non toxic exclusively for a while now on one of my 22‘s finally used the norma segmented, out tonight 23 so far all headshot all dead, I did run a few other brands some I must say we’re atrocious, find one your 22 likes and order a batch up and carry on, I have had no dramas with mine after throwing out the rubbish ones
What one did you use the hollow point in mine were terrible, segmented after a re zero they have worked out ok, post # 5 shows grouping at 50 yds off sticks RHS target are the norma segmented which have worked out ok in my anschultzWhat brand and what range?
I’ve tried Norma through both of my .22s and they were terrible 3-6” at 50 yards, others found the same
I gave up my 22lr a while ago, and replaced it with an FX dreamline .22. 30ft/lb and is great on the rabbits. Will be thoroughly Pi$$ed off if that has to go non lead, I havent heard any good reports on lead free pellets.Airguns included in the ban I believe
