The future of night is...??

Enhances night vision (to a small degree) but does not ‘create’ night vision. Absolute bollocks and overstatement news wise. Having worked in the industry for years, I can guarantee there is no way if creating night vision without sensors and processors and large lenses and firmware.

Nice story thought

Bump lol

Not all EV cars are s***e
Like everything else, you need the right tool for the job
There are an increasing number of situations where an EV is the right choice for the job

Cheers

A local lad with 2 jobs bit of courier work and gardening feeds his family using a petrol 5k van as that is what he saved up.
Find me a 5k EV van for him please.... Oh wait you can't

I was reading about the all new Volvo electric xc90 that is coming out.
Now I have had 2x diesel xc90’s and I love them - great bits of kit, but I haven’t paid over £30k for either of them (both 2 year old with c20k miles on the clock when I got them) , but my current one is the exec model which in 2011 retailed at c£48k.
That’s a lot of money for a car, but the new electric one is ‘starting’ at £100k!!

For a family car.
Not a Porsche or an Aston or a Ferrari, but a Volvo with 7 seats!

On that’s basis I think I will go and buy a reconditioned xc90 engine and gearbox and have it stored somewhere so that when my current one gives up then I can simply swap it over, as I could never sanction paying that much money for an every day car and if that is the price to get an equivalent piece of kit then I think I will just keep the old one going!

I might be missing something (not the first time) but unless all your pension fund is tied up in diesel, I never understand why people get so angry about EV.... 🤷🏽‍♀️
one reason could be the government forcing technology on people that they would prefer a choice over, as they did between VHS and Betamax. Market forces or government forcing you. One is rather more palatable than the other.
Oh, and the sanctimonious-virtue-signalling cork soakers who splash their cash on an EV then look down their noses on everyone else. Or at least they did until good old Elon joined the republicans.
