The off hand challenge thread.

Well just for starters it's not really a challenge.
I really enjoy shooting rifles offhand but I don't hear of others doing it.
That said I'd love to encourage you all to have a go and put the results up here.
Doesn't matter to me what the firearm is, any cal, rifled or smoothbore, air rifle or pistol and I don't care on the range as long as it's say between 7 yards or paces and a 1000! Just as long as it's off hand stood on two feet or one.

I'll start, late afternoon going dark, five rounds. First at 50, last at 175. I'm certain I heard five hits but only see four but hey I'll take that!

Any takers?
Please join in. Hasn't got to be five shots. Just an honest one off hand hit, even if you take a few practice shots, just show the one you are happy with 👍🏻.
Happy shooting.

Two feet or one?
Sounds like discrimination against Jake the Peg! 😉

Why have you posted a picture of a singularly unimpressed dog?

Was that one at 50, 100, 125, 150 & 175? Good shooting in my book!

When I started shooting rabbits in the 80s they were all shot offhand and in the head but now wouldn't dream ot it , all shot off the quads.

Same when I started stalking all deer were shot offhand with unmoderated .243 ...but again now either quads or bipod.

If I tried now it would probably be embarrassing 😳

Yep me too with the 500. My eyes won't focus the rear, front backsight and target all at the same time any more. So I either don't shoot or the target needs to be as close as possible. I guess an aim point might be the answer but somehow the rifle just doesn't look right

I don't try and focus the lot. I was taught to line the front and rear, hold the head position and focus the front under the target.
