The out yesterday or today thread and...

My mate kindly made me a steel fox target so this afternoon tested the BC on the Alpex at 300 yds.

After a little tweaking of the muzzle velocity hit the target central , so happy with that. My mates Nocpix was also bang on.

The farmer even went and got his .243 and ended up hitting it with a bit holdover , enjoyable afternoon in the sunshine.

Then out for a quick stalk and grassed a young buck.

Anybody know the sex of the target 🤔

It's a polar fox, they went extinct 500,000 years ago due to a vital part of their anatomy getting frozen off. Frostbite there is also very painful! Worse than gout!!

Does the first person to give the target a "helmet piercing" get a prize

Well done on the corvids as well mate.

I had a week in Naples wandering around and eating and drinking more then I should have ...spot on but glad to be back in more peaceful surroundings lol

Mixed emotions.
Out before 04:30 to look for two young roe buck yearlings. Did not see but did watch the doe. I only have a few that arrived in the last row desert in Britain around 2021.
She looks heavy and healthy.
As she went in for the day a bloody fox popped out of cover right by her and started trotting up the field.
Thinking that's this year's fawns done for I saw red and started to close the gap.
At approx 150yds I took a shot and missed!
No idea where which is frustrating. And I lost the brass 😭.
Jess did later pick it's trail up but I was none the wiser really.
Apart from that I really enjoyed the birds.
Wheatear were present in good number and larks too. The dawn chorus was beautiful and the hares frolicking about was good.
I also found my first wild pheasant chicken this morning. Thrilled with that
Gotta get that fox!
