I was looking for a solution to replace my lens cap for my Hik FQ35. My biggest issue was the large hinge of the objective cap would get caught when trying to take it out/remove from pouch. I also didn't like the way it spun and had to be opened every time to use. I did just remove it entirely, but wasn't sure how I felt about the exposed metal of the lens.
Looking around I found this:
This also covers the red bezel - an apparent weak spot for bumps. I got in touch with the seller, and they custom made one for me for an FQ35 with supplied dimensions.
Received it in the post, and its exactly what I was looking for, its a very tight fit so won't come off, gives extra protection, and most importantly doesn't snag or spin! It also comes with a pop off protector for transport/storage - please see photos below.
The rubber is a little shiny, so I might try and shrink wrap it.
I have absolutely no affiliation with these people and paid full price, but I thought this might help out some people with similar issues, or who want a different solution. It will be staying on my thermal from now on.
