This weekend in Bavaria near Ingolstadt is a game fair German style

This picture from on Friday all the German big names were there one got me drooling over a K95 on the Blaser stand with stock work to die for that just sat in my shoulder as if they had designed it for me, the reticule never wobbled. The music was so soft.

Would have loved to go, however, with my impeccable timing, am visiting family in Munich next week…

By car or flight?
Flying in next week….my impeccable timing is changing from this week to next week and only arranging to stay for 2 days….If I had known earlier, would have arranged to travel for last weekend and stayed longer…

A nice place to enjoy good wine is right next to the Feldhernnehalle at Odeonsplatz called the Pfälzer Residenz Weinstube it is located in the cellar has a great atmosphere but you must stroke the lions snout when you enter for good luck.

Thanks for that BB…probably not enough time to on this trip, but due out again for a longer visit in December, staying near Sendlinger Tor for a couple of days, then onto Obergiesing to meet up with family.

Ha, I lived in a flat just off Lindwurmstrasse in 1980 when the bomb went off in the Oktoberfest on the Friday, I was there 300m away from it but the brain by 10:15pm was not.

When my daughter first moved to Munich she rented a small apartment in Turkenstrasse, near to Odeonsplatz. One of the clauses in the lease was that she had to vacate the apartment for a three week period in September/October so the landlord could re-let it during the Oktoberfest period….🍻. He always had a smile on his face and a healthy bank balance following Oktoberfest.

Very common practice in the town even renting out tents in gardens. Our first visit back in 1973 from Cologne we did camping in a western Munich campsite and one of our group chucked up all over the water standpipe he was hanging onto to avoid falling over. Oh to be young again.
