Thoughts on Barnes TTSX BT Bullet Heads

Yes exactly that.

We seem to be going round in ever so slightly decreasing circles....what was it in @Miki ’s post that you were querying in #38 then? Or have I been misreading your comments?

I was just pointing out that the TTSX And the TSX are totally different bullets.

Well blow me down. There was @Alantoo and myself believing what the manufacturer was saying ... who knew ?

Since its introduction in 2003, Barnes' TSX Bullet has earned a reputation as "the perfect hunting bullet." Now, Barnes has improved on perfection by adding a streamlined polymer tip. The new Tipped TSX features the same 100-percent copper body with multiple rings cut into the shank. It delivers the same gnat's-eyelash accuracy and "dead right there" performance—but with an added polymer tip that boosts BC and improves long-range ballistics.

My experience with TTSX in 30-06 (150gr and 168gr) and 250gr. in 9.3x62 is outstanding. This bullet really knocks them down with minimal meat damage. I’ve shot many animals; roe deer, red deer, wild boar and moose and have zero complaints with their performance. P.s. and the accuracy is fantastic

Hi there,

By the sounds of it you have bought some bullets to in order to load your own cartridges.

Maybe share some proposed load components and data with us, could be useful.

Nothing wrong with this bullet choice, as others mentioned they need to be used with the consideration that monolithic copper bullets do not expand as readily, are less dense and hence longer.

SAKO use Barnes TTSX for all their non-toxic loadings (Powerhead II I think). Might recommend that you take a look at those as well.

A lot of people load the .270 with a large rifle magnum primer as well, something to think about.

Well I had plenty of brass from a mix of norma and federal.

Made a few rounds up yet to have tested them, due to the festive period. I have used reloader 22 at 54 and 56 grains and will see how i get on.

Will look at picking up some Sako rounds as well.
