Thoughts?

I dont think the issue of compliance is helped by having so many sets of rules and people making the rules.

For example the regs for selling deer are different in england to Scotland and local authorities also seem to interpret these differently too. There are about 10 shooting organisations, multiple shooting academies.

Personally I'd prefer to reform/update DMQ/best practise guides than start again. DMQ should be a charity to help with the accusations of high prices.

As many have said on here a piece of paper is no substitute for experience but for someone like me who is interested in getting into stalking it seems like a good idea. At the very least it will i presume help people be safer shots which can only be a good thing surely. Hopefully it doesn't become mandatory for experienced shots, but for a newbie like me starting out it gives a platform from which to continue my interest. Having different bodies providing courses will of course confuse, but I think most people will trust basc for want of a better alternative for obvious reasons.

P.s. I didnt even know about this course until joining the site so thanks for the heads up! I also like the look of the butchery course. Pricy but hopefully a worthwhile investment which will give me a good grounding.
