Tick tock - boom!

OK, that's upped it a bit! And fascinating they found the virus in the cheese. It is odd though, as most flavivirus only tramsit through insect bites.
ONe to watch

Yes, and one for the goat farming millennials to pay attention to, there is now a risk in the UK in taking unpasteurised milk and milk products for family use, gifting or private sale.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control have this leaflet / factsheet on TBE (to go with the others posted above) :

Tick-borne encephalitis virus transmission has been increasing in Denmark.

Human cases of TBEV infection in DK were recorded in 2009 and now consecutively in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Likely the virus was introduced by ticks piggybacking migratory birds and just as likely moved around by them.

As time passes the incidences rise. According to a recent report from the RKI, Germany, a 30% increase in TBE infections there 2021-2022. Fluctuating figures, upward trend.

There seems to be so many about, nasty little ba****ds.
