Warning as Lyme disease cases surge in England - how to spot symptoms and signs (Liverpool Echo), sounds like they are waking up to the problem.
I am thinking I may ask the surgery if they can test for Lyme Carditis.

Needed some strong antibiotics recently and my quack sent me some Doxycycline( forgive spelling). Good stuff for treating Lyme so hopefully will keep it at bay if it's there.

I noticed I was getting a lot of ticks last year so picked some up. Found a tick on my trousers and sprayed it with the stuff. It DID NOT like it at all it was almost as if it was burning it's legs. Worth a look

My wife took seven off my back last summer in one evening stalk. I seem to pick them up each week here. Woodland and field seem to be the same.
Get home shower then following day find them

A few years ago someone in this forum recommended 0,5% permethrin solution sprayed in clothes & gear. For me that was a gamechanger (not like the Hornadys ). I bought the permethrin in a 25% solution and diluted it myself to 0,5%. Very cheap and enough supply for a few seasons!

I stalked in the south of England for about 15 years without getting a tick. Then I moved to the north east of England & fairly regularly find myself removing them (might also be related to the amount of stalking I do now).
Last year, after a day stalking on an island off the west cost of Scotland, I must have crawled through a nest or something, as at the end of the day with the help of the wife, we removed about 85 tiny little ticks - from everywhere on me!
