Tikka 595 .243 - Whats it worth?

Ive had some interest in my tikka 595. Its a blued action, R/H and wooden stock, threaded and complete with a T4 mod. I would say the overall condition is good, the butt pad is a bit tatty, general stock condition is fine and the barrel has a few marks where the mod rubs. Its obviously old but shoots well and has plenty of barrel life left (had it checked last year..).

What would be a sensible price for the rifle and mod alone? I havent really got my finger on the pulse with this and guntrader only has one 595 .243 on, which i think is expensive at £695..

Thoughts on a postcard...?

i had the continental master, sold it to my mate, big mistake, they are way better than t3,ive got a 695 cont master in 30-06 i use at 1000yds,awesome accurate

I sold my Stainless steel 595 a couple of years ago for £500, not too bad as I had brought it new for that and used it for 8 years. I would have thought £500 for the rifle and £80 for the mod would not be too far off the mark.

Cheers guys, i was thinking a fair price would be £500 for it including the mod.. I also prefer the 595 to the T3.. Since getting the 7mm-08 (a year ago) ive put 3 shots through the .243 to check zero and thats it.. seems a shame for it not to be used.. ive also got the bug for a 7mm SAUM!

Funny £500 was exactly what I thought!

I was £600 for mine, blue & wood. Had only had about 50 rounds or so through it before I got it. Came with lots of stalking bits and bobs (no mod) including some ammo.

yeah i know.. the 595 action is great and so much nicer than the T3.. I lucked in this year and bought a 595 stainless synthetic which had fired less than 20 rounds (.22-250) and was like new. it shoots like a dream too.. regarding the .243, i never use it now because i have my 7mm08 so thinking i may as well get rid as im toying with the idea of a 7mm SAUM. The .243 was my first own stalking rifle that ive had for yonks so it has sentimental value too..

It sounds like you're on top of the situation. Good luck with getting everything in the cabinet the way you want it. It's a never ending job! :tiphat:

Well i need a bigger gun cabinet and have one in the wings which i could get off a friend, a proper 10 gun cabinet with lots of room.. problem is that i need a bigger house for it!

I,ve got a 595 stainless/synthetic .223 would not consider selling it,loads better than anything new, such a sweet shooting gun compared to my .270
