Tikka T1X

Rumours :)

They have been making .22 versions for few weeks now and first batch will leave factory soon. Deliveries here in Finland will start at September.

At the IWA we took a T1x and it plopped right into our Tikka stock, no inletting. The standard bedding in that stock was prepped to take any T3. Can't understand why it would not fit into the laminate.

I ordered my T1X last December and a couple of months afterwards, ordered a suppressor for the rifle. Here a suppressor background check can take 5-8 months but I just figured on shooting the T1X without it until I got approved

The suppressor was approved yesterday. No word on the rifle! ~Muir.

The 17HMR T1X is in a shop here but I'll hold out for the 22lr. They will come. Think the overall strategy of Tikka is the problem, the young product manager back right in the pic seems to have a very good approach to what the customer wants and needs. Shortcomings on previous models are fixed to the better. Sales are through the roof but production cannot keep up.

That was the plan but I can assure you it took some grinding to fit.

I'd agree with that - they've made more than enough 22 LR rifles over the years to know how to make it work - it's not like it's a semi auto:???:
They didn't anticipate the demand and they have not the production capacity to meet it.
My feeling is that the T1X is their way of getting people into the brand at a low(ish) price point and then hoping that said people will then move up to their higher priced and more profitable rifles.
To make that work the T1X HAS to be good otherwise it could lose them existing and potential customers
I'll bet there's almighty argument going on at Sako between the sales and production guys on one side who want to get the product out the door to meet the demand and the accountants who don't want to spend too much resources on a low profit product when they could be used on making high profit products.

Cheers

Google translation was not so perfect. It said: "We wanted to make sure that the product is safe for all cartridges. Small cartridges are so different, so it needs work." He was actually saying that they wanted to make sure that product works with all cartridges. I heard that the problem was magazines that weren't feeding that well all ammo and that this problem didn't affect to .17hmr.

Even though .22lr have gone mainly for people who made reservation here is one already available for anyone :)

Probably not. Most rimfire actions aren't strong enough for CF cartridges. The 17WSM operates at higher chamber pressures than standard rimfire ammo. (17HMR/ 22LR) ~Muir
