been offerd a finlite today in very good nick, are they a lot better than a t3 as they seem to be a lot more money ?

Buy a T3 and put the money you save into good quality glass for the top of it.

....also 6.5x55 would be my choice also.

I have one and its light and very accurate, the action is as smooth as any and the saftey is a brill idea.
add to it a double stack mag which can be loaded from the top while in the gun.
and dedicated mounts

buy it.

Had both, the Sako is a notch above a Tikka, 6.5X55 75 Finnlight is a much sort after model, it is more than a T3 for a good reason, if the money will allow buy it.

I have a Tikka T3 & a sako Finnlight,They are both lovely rifles in their own right but for me the sako is a better rifle, Granted you pay more the sako, But the Tikka T3 is well worth the money in its price bracket also,Out of the box they"re very accurate as well. You wont be disappointed if you buy either.

If you've been offered a Sako75 finlight at a good price I'd hand over the cash and walk away with finight. the difference between the 85 and 75 are as follow.
mag needs to be pushed in before you can drop it out
the 85's bolt head is different, feeds slight more control way than the 75 and will make no difference at all in .308.
you can't drop the firing pin out of the 85 which is a bonus. and that is it.
Oh yes the first few 85 had rubbish stocks...

The Build quality os better than the T3 plus the magazine is a double stack mag in the Sako. I got rid of my Tikka T3 for my Sako and won't sell it it's accurate. I've got an 85 when they first came out but wish I'd bought the 75.
