Top ten war films

Ooh. A list. Here goes then:

Saving Private Ryan (of course)
Waterloo (Epic, with real people in the armies! Lord Uxbridge: By God, Sir. I've lost my leg. Duke of Wellington: By God, Sir. So you have.)
Full Metal Jacket (This is my rifle....)
Enemy At The Gate (That incidental music alone makes it)
Sergeant York (An oldie but goodie)
Das Boot (I feel claustrophobic thinking about it)
The Bridge On The River Kwai (another oldie but goodie, despite some historical inaccuracies)
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (Russell Crowe's best outing, better than Gladiator I think)
The Great Escape (Dada..da da da dada) Whenever I'm in bad books with the missus she says "For you, da cooler!
The Dam Busters (some rubbish special effects it has to be said but creeps in at no10)

no order , just good movies ,
Saving Private Ryan
Battle of Britian
The Odd Angry Shot ( you may have to Google that one )
Platoon
Letters from Iwo Jima
Das Boot
Stalingrad
Galipoli
and one that's kind of a war movie , Air America , based on the book ,The Golden BeeBee , pretty close to the actual events that happened in Laos in the late 60's and early seventies .

Most of the above plus The pacific, although it's a series. The best for me though is 13 hours, the secret soldiers of Benghazi.
I do find it irritating though that some films that are based on true stories are altered by adding things, usually love interests, for example enemy at the gates.
