UK Covid Vaccination Certificate
Day 2 Lateral Flow test order confirmation (needed to complete UK Digital Locator form on way back)
UK Firearms license
German Hunting license
Formal letter of invitation to the hunt
Passport

I think I've got everything required. Thought it might be a useful list for anyone else travelling in the not too distant future, although I'm sure the rules will have changed again in a few weeks!

Thank you. Still got the push bikes but the GSA has gone. Had to reduce the contents of the toy shop when we moved house and that unfortunately went, along with the Defender.

Are you taking your own rifle as I would be interested in how you get on with Border Force out and back at our end, I ask as I hunt abroad but have not been away since Covid-19 Wishing you a happy hunt as well

The hotel and the restaurant on my return to De. required me to show my European covpass on my smartfone. How the UK covpass app is accepted in Germany your experience will be interesting to see, good luck and enjoy. Oh everywhere I go in shops/supermarkets now here they are required wearing of the blue or PPE masks this is in Bavaria other landes may differ.

Taking my own. There are 25 of us going. We've done a fair bit of homework on what we need, as have our hosts. Hopefully we will not all get turned around at ze border...

The borders are open if you drive in, flying of course you will enter De. with your baggage and be subject to using the red channel to collect boomsticks.

I stayed over night in Germany Saturday night on my way to the UK. It seems like mask wearing is almost compulsory. Came into the UK via Channel tunnel with my rifle in the car. Nobody asked the question about the rifle and I said nothing about it so no problem there. 2 day test tomorrow . All pretty straightforward.

Have a super time. I just got back from Germany on Saturday. I’m going again next month and then again in December if travel is still possible. What’s worth adding is that if your traveling by ferry via the Netherlands to Germany ( as we do as we can then take the Dog and have the Truck and more kit) you Will need to have also filled in the digital locator form for the Netherlands ( Covid) , have a Dutch firearms import license for any guns you have (Brexit) , and an export / import license for any dogs you have ( Brexit) this costs £180 for the dog per trip and is valid only for that day of travel.
What Import papers have you been told you need for your rifle when flying into Germany now that our government has scrapped the European firearms pass in favour of uncertainty and additional form filling, time wasting and expense ?

Yes, on Friday evening i arrived at the ferry terminal in the Netherlands after a 7 hr drive from Germany wishing to return to the UK , only to be prevented from boarding the ferry by passport control because a vet had not filled in the new £180 import/ export documents properly ( I really don’t blame him as there are many pages to fill in ) for our dog. I was then faced with having to find a hotel for the next 2 Nights and a Dutch vet , so that I could get the papers in order and then sail on the following Monday . Luckily I , on account of knowing our German vet, was able to get them to send an email to the Dutch border control at 7.30 pm on a Friday evening which fortunately resolved the Problem enabling us to travel that night.
If your traveling to Germany with a dog and rifle post brexit you need to allow a couple of weeks to get all your ducks in a row before you can travel. The Covid stuff is a bit of a pain but only takes an hr or two and £20 to get sorted.
