Travelling through Singapore with firearms

Evening all,
Just wondering if any of you have travelled through Sinapore in the last 6 months with a firearms?
My family and I heading to New Zealand tomorrow night with Sinapore Airlines, I applied to get a visitor’s firearms licence for new Zealand, I had given up hope of it coming through in time but have just got confirmation that I have been granted the licence, however it seems almost impossible to travel with Sinapore Airlines with rifle. I did about 15 years back and it was easy! I understand it is very much last minute!

The only thing I could suggest would be to have the rifle sent by DHL to New Zealand from yourself or if not enough time an RFD in the UK. DHL regularly carry firearms. In fact it is in the training given when you commence that firearms are NOT "dangerous goods" and can be handled just as one would handle a package containing a garden spade as far as its hazard class.

No personal experience. I'm sure you've spoken to them but Singapore Airlines website states the following so it would appear they allow it:

Firearms​

Please contact Singapore Airlines, should you wish to carry firearms and ammunition for sporting purposes, as your checked baggage. You will be responsible to ensure that all necessary permits and licenses are in order prior to your travel on Singapore Airlines.

In addition, the following conditions shall apply:

• The ammunition must be completely removed from the firearm(s).
• Each passenger may only check in maximum gross weight of 5kg (11lb) of ammunition for his or her own use. Ammunition with explosive or incendiary projectiles will not be accepted.
• The ammunition must be securely packed in a sturdy box. Passengers travelling in a group must carry their ammunition in their own separate boxes or bags. Each box/bag/package shall not exceed the maximum limit of 5kg (11lb) of ammunition.
• The firearm(s) must be packed in a suitcase or firearm case.

If you are bringing the weapon to / from Singapore, you may apply for a licence with the Singapore Police Force here

Think DHL prohibit firearms as goods they will carry.

They didn't when I worked their on air cargo sort facility at East Midlands Airport in 2020 during covid. But going online suggest, on their official website, that as you say they don't carry them.

TNT did carry them until they merged with all companies FEDEX then they stopped carrying.

Hi all, sorry I haven't been on here since I arrived.
Well in the end I didn't bring the rifle with me, but it turns out that it shouldn't have been a problem.
When my family and I arrived at Heathrow we bumped into another problem, my wife and two kids both have New Zealand passports I however don't, and since the last time I travelled to NZ it turns out that you now need a visa to travel to NZ so there was a chance that I wouldn't be on the same flight as my family! Anyway while we were sorting the visa application on line I got talking to a Singapore airline worker who actually understood my situation and they said it would not be a problem to take the rifle. So you really need to talk to someone sensible to get a sensible answer. Infact he said if I don't get onto tonight's flight bring the gun tomorrow and we will get it sorted.

Anyway we are here now and having a great time been out with mates and shot some wild goats, spot lighted possums on my father in-laws place and hopefully going out for a deer this week.

As for the NZ firearms licence, mine took 3 weeks to come through but it did say it can take 3 months so I would allow plenty of time.

As far as a standard NZ firearm license goes (for people who live here) you can borrow/loan a rifle or shotgun for up to 30 days without having to change over who it is registered to....so getting the temporary use of someone's else sporting arms is not a hassle.
