If a loaded magazine is in the gun yes I would call that loaded, but in your pocket NO the gun is not loaded!
Exactly!

Man after my own heartI think you'd be surprised what I say to peoples facesI'm in a profession and specialise in a role that requires me to be very blunt and to the point. I also respect people who tell me at it is, same as I do. I'm sure @Kjf or anyone else on here that knows me would agree

Playing Devil’s advocate here…a Sound Moderator is actually nothing like a Firearm but it is considered one in Law……Not being rude, being entirely honest. You stated a loaded mag is basically a loaded gun. They were your words. A loaded mag is NOT even remotely similar to a loaded firearm.
I wouldn't have a loaded mag in a rifle whilst I was driving unless I was on my ground somewhere, in which case the rifle would be next to me ready to roll. If I have the mag loaded, I have it in the pocket of my slip. Which is fine. And legal. I genuinely suggest you take a look up on various parts of firearms legislation and don't try to advise what you may believe when it isn't in law.

Force 9 gale forecastI carry my magazine in a leather pouch on my belt. Perhaps having the cartridges in the plastic clip they come in from the factory boxs is better, or use RWS which use cardboard partitions. I have used a leather cartridge holdèr or at times a few loose in my pocket. They aren't in the rifle so it's unloaded.
As for the danger when South-Norfolk-Stalker passes wind, that surely justifys licensing.

Ken.
Just like the requirement of having DSC1 prior to being granted a deer suitable calibre! Poppycock! Unless it lines the pocket of BASC with a course on magazine loading, carriage, and storage then we'll see some actionI can’t understand why there is do much debate, there is nothing in guidance or legislation.
I agree...and I refer to military training for common sense...on the instruction of LOAD you insert a magazine...on the instruction of MAKE READY you chamber a round. Up until that point a loaded magazine is no different to a cardboard box holding 20 rounds other than it attaches to a rifle, if not attached to a rifle then the rifle is NOT loaded. If a loaded magazine is in the gun yes I would call that loaded, but in your pocket NO the gun is not loaded!
Be careful matey...you have a loaded pocket in some eyes!!! A ND and you could blow a pop stud!!I carry my magazine in a leather pouch on my belt. Filling a magazine when you arrive before first light means doing it in the dark and making noise or doing it under artificial light and making noise. It’s much easier to load the magazine in the kitchen before you leave and pop that magazine in when you land in the ground.I think that where there is any doubt, (I have no doubts by the way), just travel with empty magazine(s)?
What savings are there to be had? It only takes seconds to fill a magazine in a hunting scenario although that said, a very dear friend of mine thinks nothing of "bombing up!" as he calls, it when we visit the range. I do make mention but it gets me nowhere with him.
This is easy easy - just think of the safest way to transport your ammo and stick with it, if it’s not a legal requirement it is a safety requirement - if you don’t want to be safe and seen to be safe crack on
Correct, the mag isn't thoughPlaying Devil’s advocate here…a Sound Moderator is actually nothing like a Firearm but it is considered one in Law……
having a loaded magazine in your pocket IS safe. There is absolutely no way in heaven and earth that rifle is going off!
Can’t you lot see that?
That I agree 100%, that’s just plain stupid!I think if anyone looked in a boot of a car and the mag was in a rifle and under loaded, you could have some heavy questions being fired at you in the event being stopped by the old bill
