I moved to the Thames valley area for a new position and if I'm honest was not looking forward to the change from a very good licensing area (Northumberland) to what came across as a poor performing one. Initially I sent two emails before I moved to arrange for a chat regarding security etc, neither were replied to, but what follows is as accurate as I recall.
Shortly after this I was contacted for a visit, this however was not to do my renewal, but because I'd moved to the area, very friendly and helpful chap who was a former soldier and police firearms officer, all went well and he made a note my renewal was in.
Received a text to say my renewal was being processed, this to me showed how long it had been sat on a desk before being looked at, I then got a call from the same FEO who done my visit, all well and renewal would be sent out, two weeks later receive another text confirming the same.
This morning (the day they expire) my new tickets arrived.
OK, not a rapid service, and quite longer than what I'm used to and certainly room for improvement but both tickets delivered to me in time
- 15th May, informed Northumbria Police of the move
- 16th May, Northumbria confirmed my file had been forwarded to TVP
- 20th May, letter from TVP telling me that my FAC/SGC renewal must go in six months before expiry (I have less than four months remaining)
- 23rd May, renewals sent off
