U.K. Made

Purdey clothing is uk made. Just buy it in their annual winter sale as it’s expensive! Bought a really nice tweed waterproof hunting jacket for £475

Hucklecote- i think they are based in Essex, they do all manner of tweed coats, suits, trousers etc. I have a couple of their jackets and breeks and i can recommend them highly. I think their products are sold through distributors though.

Hoggs Of Fife. Had a wax jacket for xmas six years ago & just bought their Field Pro Smock. Really well made & a great example of cant beat British!

You might want to take a look at Paramo. Not really UK made but it's a UK company producing in Columbia in an 'ethical manufacturing partnership'.
The jackets are really nice. I've seen a couple on gamekeepers.

Fortis (civvy versions of Arktis) great quality, generous sizing.

Wot Rider said about Paramo. I've worn a Halcon jacket since the middle of the 2014/15 game season. It's soft, quiet, comfortable, breathable, designed as a twitcher's jacket but is near perfect for game shooting and stalking. Good pockets, roll away hood with a wired peak, designed for active work, so well ventilated. If you keep up with the manufacturer's instruction re washing and occasionally reproofing it will genuinely last you a lifetime. So far it has done four seasons as a game jacket, on a walk one stand one shoot, so needs to be versatile. I also wear it as as my go-to stalking jacket and dog-walking coat, so it's very much an old favourite with hundreds of hours of testing in the best weather the South Pennines can throw at it. It's never let anything through. It's been torn three times on barbed wire and simply stitches up without affecting waterproofness......, I can genuinely say I have never had such a brilliant coat.

I am in the market for a new coat and am in a "Buy British" frame of mind. Can anyone suggest or recommend a domestic maker of shooting coats and possibly trousers.
Many thanks. Steven

My wife has asked why the owners of these British clothing companies seem to insist on modelling their own clothes themselves!

Any wonder that that they remain a cottage industry!

Im particularly impressed with Fortis presentation of their products, I assume sales are not the objective !

We are a completely British Made company, based in Devon.

We make civilian, police and military gear, we specially work with the hunting world and we are doing well.

As a company that prides ourselves on customer service we are always open to feedback from you, so we would like to know how presentation could be improved Seven Edwards?

Fortis is now running at a major scale of manufacturing with the power to listen and adapt to suit as many consumers as possible.

For anyone that comments and suggestions, thank you.

I felt for you (Fortis) at the South of England Show as it can't have been easy with a;- numbers massively down on any year I've attended since the mid 80's and b; what's best described as a 'challenging' visitor demographic which for the most part have far more interest in hot tubs than ripstop cargo pants and the hound arena.

So thanks for being one of the very few stands worth visiting during what I've sworn was the last time I attend Ardingly.

I can thoroughly recommend their gear and the new liner they use, nowhere near as sweaty/clammy as the Harkilla goretex stuff in the trousers.

Thank you guys, means a lot to us and all the Team. All we wish to do is create the best gear we can, give the best experience possible and make sure we are company you get involved with and not just buy from.

We love what we do, but to make British has massive challenges, Ardingly can be tough. Luckily this year we managed to do well.

Come see us at the GameFair, there is a free bar ;)
