Using a .30 cal Mod on a .223 How Much Difference?

Take the same moderator with two bores and run the smaller calibre bullet and I can’t see any way the large ransoms bore will produce greater sound attenuation

One mod with small bore Andy low efficiency against another mod with high efficiency design is not a comparison

Three things make the sound attenuation better
Bore
Number of baffles
Chamber size

I'm not arguing with you. I'm quoting them and adding no voice of experience to support their claim as to the 'quieter' aspect as I have no way to make a model to model comparison. I have only been running 30 cal suppressors on my 223 rifles and have no complaints. I also know that these guys make some of the best hunting suppressors in the US. They are not cheap ($1100) and there is a l-o-n-g wait for the paperwork, so they are held accountable to their claims. There are much cheaper suppressors in the US but none work like these which is why I have purchased five of them so far but none in 223. I didn't feel the need.~Muir

Good question. I am told by those that have both 223 and 30 cal in the same make as mine that the 30 cal on the 223 is quieter than if the 223 suppressor is used. One suppressor caliber makes things simple: if I have an adapter on the 223 I'm good to go with one can. Were they easier to get I stilI wonder if Iwouldn't just standardize anyhow. I know where you’re coming from. Being a Yorkshire man I don’t spend unnecessarily.
I have the same thread on all my rifles so I’m theory could use one moderator on all of them.
In saying that I the most I spent on any moderator was £130 iirc when Hausken first came out over here they were on offer I got the first one into the shop.
My other mods have either come with the rifle or were secondhand.
With one exception I made a moderator for one rifle. Not as many legal hoops to jump through as over there. But I am not sure if I would bother again. At the time I was cash poor time rich. There was a lot of research went in beforehand and the actual build time it would be cheaper just buying one.
