The performance will be negligible, so minute it will be not worth worrying aboutOne moderator of a suitable hole diameter can be used on whatever and however many suitable rifles you have.
The only caveat is one of performance. A .45 cal moderator will not be as efficient with a .223 as a 6 mil would be. But it doesn’t mean you can’t.

Put it this way it wouldn’t bother me!Really ..... ?
Why?If you dont get a slot for the 270 you cant use a mod on it
I’ve applied for a mod slot for the .270, but was just wondering if I’d have to double-register the current .30 mod for use with it.If you dont get a slot for the 270 you cant use a mod on it
Why ring the rozzers?I’ve applied for a mod slot for the .270, but was just wondering if I’d have to double-register the current .30 mod for use with it.
General consensus says not to and just ring the police, so I shall do.
Because if you are stopped with a mod on your .270 and the rifle does not have a mod on your ticket it will be illegal? Why?

Used 6mm and 6.5 though a 30 cal and deer died cant see the problem!
Please yourself of you want to get all anal about it!
You just need your FLO to add a condition to your certificate stating that the moderator can be used on both rifles. Easy peasy..I obviously don’t want to have the same mod logged twice
I would use the 30 cal mod as it is. I have never found it makes much difference .I’ve currently got a .308 with a Wildcat Evolution moderator. I’m in the process of acquiring a .270, and was considering using the same mod but buying an additional .270 baffle for it.
Is it a possible to do this, as I obviously don’t want to have the same mod logged twice on my certificate but for different calibres?
Cheers.
Rifles aren't conditioned for moderators! So I could apply for and buy a rifle that is not conditioned for use with a mod and just put one one it?
You need to apply for a moderator if you wish to possess a moderator to use on your rifle/rifles, simple as that. So, I apply for a rifle only(no mod), can I then buy a mod for it without one on my ticket?
Or do I need to have a mod on my ticket?
If I have that rifle( with no mod on my ticket) on me with a mod fitted and I’m stopped, am I not in possession of an unlicensed mod?
Am I not using that rifle otherwise than in accordance with the conditions on my ticket?
If you want to have two rifles and one moderator put it down as i.e – 1×270 rifle, 1×308 rifle, 1×30 Cal moderator, to shoot Any lawful quarry, On land where you have lawful authority to shoot, Or words to that effect. So, I apply for a rifle only(no mod), can I then buy a mod for it without one on my ticket?
