Variation Cost

Hi everyone

Sent off my variation form to add deer. Didn’t ask for any additional firearms or ammunition. What’s the correct cost to pay ?

Thanks in advance

It will be interesting to see.

Did you submit via on-line or post? The former really only allows you to input firearms or moderator details that commands a defined fee/payment.

Post. I did try online but it was for more adding and taking away firearms as the page I went to to upload my certificate only allowed 1 image (so obviously couldn’t upload a picture of my DSC1 and my permission letters either)

So went old school pen and paper

Hope you get a quick and positive response.

I'd like to think this is a "no charge" undertaking but they may argue a FEO's time is of the same cost be it considering suitability to own a given chambering or roam free in any wood with one.
🤞

Well just send in a letter with supporting information. If your a member of BASC or alike then seek some advice on the matter.

From our chat Friday I don’t think it will get declined just wants to see my permission and dsc1

DSC1 is not a requirement for a deer legal calibre...although you wont get BASC fighting your corner on that, my local FEO made up her own rules and when challenged the dept closed ranks and 180° their previous decision courtesy of her.

The one to always try and get on your conditions is AOLQ (Any Other Lawful Quarry). This avoids unnecessary changes or silly restrictions. As an example if I have a 6.5 Creed and Deer only I cant legally shoot a fox whereas if I have a .243 with Fox and AOLQ I can legally shoot a deer.

I already have a deer legal calibre for my shooting club

Yup I put deer and any other lawful quarry on my 243. And 22LR I put vermin and any other lawful quarry so both rifles should be good for foxes

Does AOLQ cover deer?
Something tells me it doesn’t……….but that’s only a feeling.

Ignore me……have just searched & come across a thread regarding this. Yep to AOLQ giving the nod to deer.
