Vario Hearables

SWMBO has some, but has only used them about four times before C19 stepped in.

So, little use, so far, but she is impressed. The customer service is excellent, let me add.

Steve.

Yes, awful! I have them, as do a few friends.

Mine arrived and had a hole in one, had to go straight back to them for a new mould. Then several times I have had one or the other pack in and not work and sent back. They blame my batteries, despite trying several types before sending them to them - miraculously they arrive back working fine, even with the batteries I had....

About a month after I bought mine a completely revamped range arrived out. Friends have bought them and still had issues.

Customer service good until they have your money.

Personally I’d go for something like Cens.

I have three cens units (analogue, digital silicon and a digital acrylic) but the quality of sound is awful as it does not match audio gram in the slightest and they also like failing.

So I was hoping that the top of range vario one can be matched a little closer to my audio gram.

Decisions, decisions

I bought a set of “in ear” defenders from grizzly ears.
I was cautious at the beginning as they were an American product but honestly 1 year of having them I use them for all types of activities. They connect to your phones Bluetooth so can play music when at the gym going for a walk etc. Double tap the button on the side and you have automatic sound suppression.

great for sitting in a pigeon hide on tour own!

just another option to consider maybe?

Thanks Adam for the recommendation.

I have extensively damaged the hearing in my left ear (shooting, chainsaws, heavy machinery and so on) so I am on the hunt for hearing protection that can be adapted to my hearing loss as it is a pain to take out the electronic hearing protection to put in my hearing aid to have a conversation.

When the cens unit went wrong earlier this year whilst hunting in South Africa, I resorted to using electronic ear muffs I had fortunately taken as a back up. I could wear my hearing aids under them but what a pain the arse to try put them on in a hurry........

I’ve had cens for awhile made in line with my hearing aids by pure tone they where great but peltors over ear are better! When I lost my cens I didn’t bother replacing them.

We got a similar thing supplied at work a good few years ago. Worked fine, but one fell out and is currently lying somewhere in the Cairngorms. The other went in the bin.....
