The best way forwards is to put in a request for an OPEN FAC and support that request with a 'Shooting CV' showing your progress through shooting sports, key dates, permissions, qualifications, experience, guided stalks, range attendances, etc. etc.
They can't argue with well presented evidence of experience and they will only be too pleased not to have to come out on site to 'clear' land.
Make sure you do this IN WRITING and 'TO BE SIGNED FOR' otherwise there is a good chance your email/letter/paperwork gets mislaid in the general chaos of back-logs that appears to be the norm in the Firearms Licensing Department of most Forces.
