Walked up practice with clay pigeons

Some time ago someone mentioned to me that there's a shooting ground with numerous clay pigeon traps buried in the ground in a field, and as one walks forward through the field, these traps are triggered and clays are thrown up into the air in the same way that a partridge would behave on a walked up day.

Does this shooting ground exist, or did I have my leg pulled?

If it does exist I'd like use it to practice walked up shooting.

about 20 years ago i used to trap for a bloke called bruce gauntlet over wootton river near marlbourgh (sorry cant remeber the estate name) he had traps in pits to simulate walked up grouse but if hes even still going or not i dont know, but i do remember it being horrible with the shot wizzing above your head

A bloke talked about setting up something similar near me (ended up doing simulated clay days instead) don't think the trap were buried but just hidden on the ground behind bushes and a laser 'trip wire' triggered the traps.

So could be possible now with modern automatic traps
