Warm wellies

I love the Aigle Parcours with the lining, but they really grab at the socks! Often find they work their way off unless its brand new grippy socks!

Gave up on Muckboots because they kept splitting at the heel.

Grubbs neoprene are decent value. If it’s cold, more thick socks. If it’s really cold a layer of tinfoil between pairs of socks. If it’s really, really cold? Delegate. 🥶

Dunlop Purofort Thermoplus, Skellerup Quattro or Bekina Thermolite. I have a pair of Thermolite wellies a size larger than normal for when it's really cold. I put on a pair of silk socks then heatholders socks or thick woolen socks over the top. The bit of extra room in the larger wellies accommodates the extra thick socks without squashing them too much and reducing their thermal ability. I do a lot of cold weather dead baiting for pike so am sat still for hours without suffering cold feet. I have tried various fancy expensive wellies in the past and always found the construction and build quality to be poor and they would fall apart typically after 3 to 6 months of daily use. Plus their "warranty" didn't cover farm use.

Did you not find that after ‘decent’ use that the ‘polystyrene’ liner used to degrade?
I used skeetex boots years ago whilst fishing and they were great but only for a while.
You can get new inserts cheap saves washing after a few years lol

If you suffer from cold feet, it’s well worth putting a wool footbed/insole in the boot. Choice of sock is also key. Merino is best in my view. Costco or Bridgedale make good ones.

Aigle we’re my favourite wellies ( in a size 50 EU- size 15 uk) I have big feet…… they resized but I had one posh pair of zipped and two with the straps…… great wellies….

I had Harkila size 50 which were good and warm but the straps came loose.

Now I have uk 16 wellies from gateway- they are Swedish designed and they have winter boots with 5mm neoprene etc….z impressive range and comfortable - I’m a size 16 now (50 this year- flatter feet) and I’ve walked miles in them this season….. highly recommended

I got some Grub Tayline just over a year ago. Kept my little pinkies warm all through last winter. Also very comfortable even after a whole day/night out in the fields

I have a pair of Hoggs FieldPro neoprene wellies. They are warm and well fitting. About £80. They are robust and quite heavy.
