Weatherby MkV Deluxe or Schultz and Larsen Victory

Alan will look after you.

I had a rifle sometimes fail to eject properly with the extracted case getting caught up on the bolt. Between Alan and Steve at Ivythorn, they organised to have the rifle collected and expedited back quick smart and Edwin did his stuff and it was returned pronto in perfect working order. Thousands of rounds later, it is still working faultlessly.

Bit annoying but it will be worth the wait as it should definitely not fire in the middle safety position.
Well, it's the mark of a rifle when, even with a slight glitch.......There is no way on Earth I am letting it go. I really am amazed they are not more popular.

Keith I am sorry to hear that you have had an issue with your Victory. Hopefully it will be all sorted promptly.

Would you care to tell us a little more about your Victory such as what grade wood it has and what chambering you went with please?

A photo would also be great.

A S&L or Zoli 1900 would probably be top of my list if I wanted a new wood and blued rifle, but I actually get actively excited about a second hand rifle from the heydays of manufacturing and all the imagined history that goes with it.

I couldn’t bring myself to buy a Weatherby mkV at any level of discount, I’m not sure why. I’m sure they are great but somehow they remind me of the highly varnished air rifles we used to get as kids. If mkV was in front of me and a good condition cf2, I know which I’d help myself to.

For me I’d be finding a sleeper old Sako, husqvarna, cf2 etc but that’s just me and I know lots of people like to buy a new rifle and look after it.

However anyone looking at my rifles and given the offer to take one might leave them all there anyway!

From the response so far, I have absolutely no doubt it will be sorted very soon.
