Hi,

I know that this is in the wrong forum but i wanted to get the quickest response, so apologies to the administrators

Does anyone have a web address and contact number for Paul Taylor Taxidermist in Dorset.

I need to check out his work and an idea of his charges before making a decision on getting a Roe Buck mounted.

Any replies most welcome.

Just to add, Paul did a shoulder mount and skull mount for me - I was a bit of a pain, not around to arrange delivery etc due to COVID and other factors, and not only were the heads brilliantly done, but he was a pleasure to deal with. Really a top guy!

i have had a couple heads done fantastic work. a good friend of mine has had almost all of his taxidermy done by him lots of beasts from around the globe all look stunning a very talented artist .

You would take a mould of the antlers and then copy them to use on the form which goes under your buck’s skin. Then you can keep the original skull with replica antlers used on the shoulder mount.

But yes you are right in that if you don’t do that (and what is normally done) your skull just gets the antlers capped off and they are used on the from with your skin.
