What an amazing day!

Unfortunately only a temporary place in heaven
She's still looking for a full-time deer job.
(Potential employers, please take note!)

All l can say to this fine young lady is….be honest hard working willing to learn from all and anyone, be totally dependable, never be late for work and if ever you have spare time during your working day don’t waste it find something to do or ask your prospective employer what if anything they want you to do next.

To be able to employ anyone with all the above attributes is a dream for any prospective employer……..go chase “your” dream.

Thank you everyone! No deer today but still a good day on the hill. It's an amazing experience and is definitely a good foot in the door! Lets hope all potential employers have their ears to the ground looking for staff!

I am seeing more young ladies through the level 1 on their way to hopefully a keepering/stalker career. The majority know exactly what they are getting into. Someone mentioned the physical manual side of work. The truth is that many of us that are now of a certain age will tell you that being hard headed and lifting things that were really too heavy for us was all wrong. Look at the state of our legs and backs. Heavy loads should be shared or good technics on what can help you lift things. ie on Arran the Ghillie and I dragged a 26.5 stags to the edge of a peat hag and rolled it into the argo underneath us. I have spoken to a few Young girls in the job and they all seem to get help when it is needed. So for those out there needing to hire on a new stalker/keeper , think on and a job shared is a job halved...J

Have asked around but not found a way to add a winch onto a pony yet

Work smarter not harder! ;)

How the heck did you get that stag up onto that nag? You are stronger than you look?
Garron is actually a camel in disguise, check the hoof/toe

its all in the snatch, Buckaroo, she had a good tip from the trainer when here…

okay, I’m leaving, she knows I’m just kidding 🤣 :coat:

I've only ever seen one person load a stag on their own. Most have sense and the stalker plus the pony girl/boy do it together whilst the guest holds the horse. Or the stalker and guest do it if the guest prefers that way, but that's only as I have seen it. Hinds are different when using a pony.

It’s all very well getting a very heavy object above your head when it’s as stiff as a board, but when you’re faced with a great big smelly beast that’s all floppy and hairy, it’s not quite as straight forward to get it up there!

OMG!
Haven't been on here for ages.
My goodness you've progressed at a pace Mouse! Good on you. Your dedication alone will ensure success. Keep at it. :)
