What information do you put on trophies ?

Just going through an old box of roe buck heads, found a few I couldn’t place. I had not done my usual practice of writing the date and location in ink on the underside so they will remain a mystery. All shot before the advent of smart phones so no pics , what3words etc.
Have seen date , location , name of stalker , section of bottom jaw and empty brass case displayed on trophy’s. Any other oddities?
Have kept a few heads on shields which are displayed but the majority have been found other homes over the years due to the quantity and house moves etc. You can only keep so many what do others do with them?

If I remember I write the carcass ID on the skull - all the other details can then be looked up in the spreadsheet.

I recently had a couple of animals where I’ve mounted the antlers on shields. They are not medals, but memorable stalks. I’ve gone to getting little silver shields engraved with both the date and the estate beat on them, and attaching these to the bottom of the trophy shields.

Most antlers I simply cut off and make into stuff - knife handles, keyrings, priests, etc.

I get a little plaque engraved with date and place ,you can get these done cheaply enough a pound or two from e bay amazon etc . I know someone who has a little photo under each mount to commemorate his more memorable stalks .
