What is a .22?

I at one time wasn’t allowed a 22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire for foxes around chicken pens as I was a little uncomfortable with my 222. I was refused as magnum calibres where unsuitable for fox control but I could have a 22-250. During the interview I asked about a 22WMR response yes that’s fine it’s just the magnums we don’t allow was the response.

Calibre vs chambering cock up
Some authorities recognise the 22cf, some don’t
Yep.
As said you’ve bought a .223, get amended to show .223 and move on with life. You can always change it a later date free for another .22CF provided you still have good reason so why get your knickers in a twist?

im not overly shocked that they make mistakes, reading posts on another thread on here people talk about 308 and 30-06 as different calibres. if we cant get it correct should we be surprised they dont!

Oh dear! I hope you didn’t enlighten them.🙈

The original fault here is either with the grant, or the application.

The HO guidance states that applications for calibres should be specific - an application for, example, a .30x, a 22CF, 22RF, etc. calibre should be sent back to the applicant or rejected.
