I'm merely going from the recommendation from 4 or 5 people as a cheap and effective way of putting ticks off your clothing.
Permethrin is an insecticide... it is used in everything from bug smoke bombs to powders for bed bugs to spray for fences. Its all in essense the same active ingrediant. The main thing that changes is the percentage and the way its distributed.
All i can say is that we have a heavy tick burden where we go and having applied this to trouser and jackets, as of yet I nor my friend have not been bitten.
However my friends dog picked up ticks on the same visits...and the dog takes tablets to prevent ticks doing their thing...
My only concern with this particular product is the additional ingredients besides permetherin.
I think I will give some sort of permetherin a go though. How do you apply it? Just in a spray bottle and a liberal coating inside and out? I presume you do it some time before (24 hours?) and let it dry first?

Rovince is the way to go.
I think we worry too much about what extra ingrediants are in things. It appears absolutely anything can eventually cause you harm...including apparently eating food cooked in foil or skin exposure to gun bluing solution or acetone or lead. This stuff wont be touching your skin that much anyway if used on outer clothing...and the jackets and trousers we wear these days usually have several layers of membrane etc.
I just put just over a cap full into an empty glass cleaner plastic bottle and dilute with water.
Yeah quite a liberal coating like you say on all the outside of the trousers and jacket in a well ventillated area..preferably outside or in a garage or shed. I tend to do it weekly if i'm out often in the clothing, atleast 24 hours before wearing them.
Considering you only need a cap full per full bottle of spray and its £30 for the 1 litre container, it will last a last time. You can feel free to double up the concentration if you wished. It does have a slight smell and obviously that would increase with concentrating the solution.
Obviously biased as we sell Rovince, however until I started wearing it I was a tick-magnet and had antibiotic treatment - now been tick free for about 5yrs, I see my mother-in-law suffering with a Lymes related illness (there are many strains and symptoms differ widely) so protection at any cost is a small price to pay...

Get some Sawyers on ebay.
Spray the day before and leave to dry. Touch wood, never had one since I started using it a couple of years ago.

Many Doctors won't prescribe antibiotics unless you are showing some symptoms and rightly so IMO
Only a small percentage of ticks carry the infection, but more importantly we should use antibiotics as seldom as possible due to the body building up an immunity , as stalkers collecting ticks are an everyday occurrence for many of
us. On my ground I will pick up ticks frequently if I was to go to the Doctor every time I would never be away from him
but more importantly antibiotics would cease to be effective when I did need them.
Living in an area where tick bites are common my Doctor is well clued up ,he certainly does not want to see everyone
thats been bitten by a tick.
His advice and its good advice examine yourself frequently, get a proper tick removal tool ,you are most at risk if a tick has been attached for more than 24 hours less than that there is a small risk but only a small one.
Its normal to have a red spot and an itch where the tick was attached ,this is not to be confused with bullseye rash
of Lyme.
If you have access to where ticks are present and you develop the bullseye rash or flue like symptoms ,headaches or just a general feeling of being unwell get to your Doctor as soon as possible.
Doctor shouldl put you on the antibiotics immediately if you present any of the symptoms and have had any possible contact with ticks.

Another Permethrin user, apply to clothing periodically, lower legs and forearms get tabard.(insect repellent).
I’ve still had a few ticks, joys of stalking I’m afraid man up.
As for the ticks crawling upwards...
try walking on your hands for five !
