As title looking to get something that crushes all the rubbish down as seem to never have enough space seen some hydraulic ones but £££ and also some manual anyone got anything that seems to work well to save me endless runs to the dump!
To be honest I just get in and jump in mine to “compact” them and I have managed to burst the side out of them. I’d have thought a hydraulic press would get through bins at an alarming rate.
Our allowance is two black bin bags and as many plastics (purple bags) or paper (pink bags) per household as ytou wish - that together with a waste food bin is more than adequate. Compost we make and burn non compostable organic stuff.
This effort is to me more important than climate change cr**.

Likewise, I get in it and jump up and down if required.
We have been on monthly wheelie bin collection for the last 7 years. We have food recycling, plastic, metal, cardboard, glass etc and you can send in as much if that as you have. The wheelie bin rarely gets full in s month these days. If you think about it, what is there to go in a wheelie bin……. Cling film, hard plastic and cellophane wrapping is all.
Here's my manual one. Non recycled only collected every 3 weeks. Food waste collected along with tins, bottles, solid plastics etc. But miss a collection and you've got 6 weeks of non recyclable waste. Not good with a big family.
My bins get tipped mechanically into the lorry and not checked by the binmen. If I compact the contents too much, some gets stuck in there and doesn’t come out.

Yea, I use a sledge hammer , I make a hell of a racket, or i was thinking of asking mrs to climb up step ladder and jump up n down in it, wearing my boots
